General Manager at Café L’Europe

She’s back! Well, in essence Persefoni Nicolosi never really left her GM role at the legendary Café L’Europe restaurant on St. Armands. Early last year, Persefoni moved to Pinehurst, NC, working with Café L’Europe owners Julie & Ron Milton to open Villaggio Ristorante & Bar, while she remotely handled her managerial duties at Café L’Europe.

Helping the Miltons with the successful launch and year-long success of Villaggio Ristorante, it was time for Persefoni to return to her beloved Sarasota and to the many Café L’Europe customers who she considers her “family”. 

“Pinehurst is a gorgeous area,” says Persefoni. “I loved working with the Miltons to open Villaggio, but I’m so excited to be back in Sarasota. My daughter Mia and I have both missed it tremendously—the people, the community, the beauty, the arts, and everything else that Sarasota has to offer.”

Now that she is back managing “the most beautiful, elegant, restaurant in the area,” she plans to revive Café L’Europe’s special multi-course wine dinners and catered in-home chef parties. “I want to focus on creating an even more enjoyable space, where you can relax dining out without worrying about safety, and still have that warm and inviting feeling Café L’Europe is known for.”  Strict Covid sanitation procedures are already in place; even the vaccinated staff wear masks.

Persefoni clearly loves what she does, and two big reasons are Café L’Europe’s exceptional staff and the many loyal customers with whom she has become friends. “I’ve heard stories of cherished memories from many customers. People who dined at the restaurant with their grandparents years ago and now dine there with their grandchildren. From first dates to anniversaries, wedding receptions, and family reunions, Café L’Europe holds many wonderful memories for so many. It is truly an iconic place that has delighted and gratified for nearly 50 years. I look forward to seeing everyone again, and to continue providing the great service and culinary experience our customers expect and deserve.”
