Palm Avenue Fine Art Presents “Plein Air in Bloom” – A Celebration of Outdoor Painting in Sarasota

Palm Avenue Fine Art is proud to present Plein Air in Bloom, an exclusive week-long event featuring some of the nation’s top plein air artists. From April 6 – April 12, 2025, Sarasota will come alive with masterful outdoor paintings, capturing the region’s natural beauty and historic charm in real-time.

This highly anticipated event brings together twenty-two nationally recognized artists, each known for their ability to translate fleeting moments of light and atmosphere onto canvas. Among the participating artists are Joseph McGurl, Bill Farnsworth, EJ Paprocki, Joseph Paquet, Mark Shasha, Carl Bretzke, Kathleen Hudson, and many more. These artists hail from across the country and will immerse themselves in the Sarasota landscape, painting en plein air throughout the week.

A Week of Art in Motion

The event officially kicks off on April 6, with artists venturing across Sarasota to paint its coastal views, historic streets, and lush landscapes. A special group paint-out will take place on Wednesday, April 9, at Myakka State Park, offering the public a chance to witness these artists at work in one of Florida’s most scenic natural settings.

On Friday, April 11, artists will submit their completed plein air works to Palm Avenue Fine Art and the downtown Sarasota paint-out exhibition. 

The event culminates on Saturday, April 12, with a grand exhibition and reception at Palm Avenue Fine Art, where all of the newly created plein air paintings will be available for purchase. This final showcase offers collectors and art lovers the rare opportunity to acquire fresh works directly from the artists.
