October 2021—Photographer Nancy Guth sets out to some of the local events and happenings that make the Sarasota/Bradenton area unique!
Big Top Brewing Company, named for Sarasota’s historical associations with The Ringling Circus, celebrated the opening of a new taproom as well as the closing of a chapter at what had been their main taproom for years. Food trucks, music, games, family, friends—and of course, good beer—were present at this last hurrah on Porter way. Their new taproom will be at the former location of pub and venue Cock’n’Bull, just a block north of their previous location on Cattleman Road.
Lemurs joined yoga students and teacher Erika Cain, RYT 200, for the Wild Yoga Program in collaboration with Big Cat Habitat. This ongoing fundraising series supports their mission to provide a safe and permanent home for big cats and other exotic creatures in need.
The Oracle Project kicked off its first outdoor event in a 10,000 sq ft community-based art space in downtown Sarasota. The brain child of Liliana Allen of Oracle flooring, these events feature live muralists, street artists, musicians, writers, vendors, and food trucks in a vibrant, engaging, multi-sensory experience.
Motorworks Brewing, known for their vast, dog-friendly patio and award-winning beers, hosted live music by Twinkle & Rock Soul Radio. Twinkle has performed and recorded with world class musicians including Aerosmith, Rod Stewart, Brian Johnson, and Sheryl Crow, to name a few.
