Nautilus Homes Sweeps 2023 HOUZZ Awards
March 22, 2023 – Sarasota
Houzz, an online community for interior design and home-improvement, has selected Nautilus Homes, a Sarasota-based luxury builder, as the top regional winner in five categories in its “Best of Houzz Design” awards: Best kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, bedroom, and living room. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Nautilus has won Best of Houzz awards. Nautilus Homes was chosen by the millions of homeowners that comprise the Houzz community from among more than three million active home building, remodeling and design industry professionals.
Established in 2012, the annual Best of Houzz awards recognize the top-rated home pros and most popular designs on Houzz across the country and around the world. Winners are determined by more than 65 million Houzz users’ reviews or photos they save to idea books.
“We are proud to have received this prestigious award from Houzz, which sets itself apart from other accolades in the industry,” says Ryan Perrone, owner and co-founder of Nautilus Homes. “The unique aspect of this award is that it is not based on pay-to-play or judged by a panel, but rather determined by the people. It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional design and customer experiences that have resonated with our clients. We are thrilled to have been recognized in not just one or two, but in five exceptional spaces, a rare feat among regional firms. We can’t wait to share images of the homes that are currently being built!”
Nautilus Homes won awards for the following homes:
- Magnolia House (Bedroom): Inspired by farmhouses of a bygone era, this home marries old-world craftsmanship with modern, luxurious materials to strike a flawless balance in good, old-fashioned comfort. The welcoming guest bedroom offers abundant natural light and high ceilings that inspire restfulness and tranquility.
- Venice Beach Cottage (Kitchen): This inviting space is light-filled and airy—thanks to clerestory windows and exposed beams spanning 30 feet.
- Venice Beach Cottage (Bathroom): Inspired by the colonial-era architecture of Old Naples, the architectural structure of this home incorporates ornate design. The elegant master bathroom was designed with premium materials, including handmade, glazed sea-foam wall tiles, which were meticulously placed to create straight lines despite the non-linear shapes. Restoration Hardware sconces and orb chandelier both complement and contrast the traditional style of the furniture vanity, Rohl plumbing fixtures and claw foot tub.
- Venice Beach Cottage (Laundry Room): This spacious laundry room is conveniently tucked away behind the kitchen. Location and layout were specifically designed to provide high function and access while keeping it out of eyesight from the kitchen. Design solutions included capturing the use of natural light and capitalizing on views of the lush garden just beyond.
- Simple and practical while maintaining an air of elegance, grace, and history, every element of this home was meticulously designed and intimately constructed to evoke a warm and familiar ease. The elegant living room features custom cabinetry, exposed wood beams, vaulted ceilings, and an adjacent patio. A spectacular standout is the cypress timber beams that span the space. Every element of the home was designed by Sarasota’s top architects, landscape architects and interior designers.
