Music Compound Now Enrolling Programs for Youth and Adults
August 12, 2022 – Sarasota
Local music school Music Compound is ready to kick things into high gear for the 2022-2023 program year, with numerous performance groups as well as individual and group lessons for all ages.
For middle and high school students (ages 11-18) interested in live performance opportunities, Music Compound is holding auditions for its rock band program on Wednesday and Thursday, August 24-25, at 7 p.m. at Music Compound SRQ. The program includes opportunities on guitar, bass, drums, vocals and keyboards as well as sound and production engineering. Students must commit to weekly rehearsals as well as live performances throughout the school year. Appointments are required: call 941-379-9100 or reserve through the provided link at musiccompound.com/bandprogram.
The Music Compound – now with locations in Sarasota (1751 Cattlemen Road) and Manatee (4740 SR 64 East) counties – provides an environment to inspire, collaborate and educate children and adults in pursuit of their love of music. Private and group lessons are available on a wide variety of instruments – including guitar, bass, piano, drums and vocals – as well as programs such as Kidz Rock (ages 4-7), Junior Rockers (ages 8-11), ukulele and guitar groups (ages 8-12), the Musical Theatre Program (ages 7-14), Songwriting Series (ages 15+), Adult Jam Sessions, the Gulf Coast New Horizons Music program for adults ages 50+, and more.
“The arts have a powerful impact on everyone but especially school-age children; music programs encourage teamwork, enhance listening skills, boost confidence, relieve stress, and heighten language development, mental processing and socialization skills, among other benefits,” said Music Compound owner Jenny Townsend. “At Music Compound, it’s not just about learning how to play music or forging a professional career in music – our members enjoy personal growth, and gain confidence and skills that they’ll carry throughout their lives.”
