Monthly Meetings Resume at South Venice Civic Association

By  |

After the summer hiatus, the South Venice Civic Association will resume its monthly meetings on September 16, 2019. The meeting is at 7:00pm and is open to the public.

The program will be a presentation and round table featuring Teresa Good, the Park Naturalist at Shamrock Park along with Sharon Johnson of the South Venice Garden Club. After the presentation, there will be a Question & Answer session with the audience. The program will focus on ‘invasive’ plants, so this is a good opportunity to get the advice of experts on how to deal with these unwanted species in your own yard.

There will be complimentary coffee and desserts to enjoy during and after the meeting.

The South Venice Civic Association was formed in 1955 to serve the residents of the South Venice Beach community and to be its voice with the County. Officials from Sarasota County regularly address the Association at its monthly meetings.

While SVCA is a membership organization and volunteer driven, its meetings and events are always open to the public, although only members receive the monthly 12-page newsletter ‘The South Venice Beach Wave”. New members are welcome and can join – online at southvenicebeach.org, by phone to 941-493-0006 or at the office which is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

SVCA is located at 720 Alligator Drive in South Venice, just one mile west of US41.
