After earning her law degree at Stetson University, Florida native Mary King worked for law firms that focused on estate planning and probate. She became interested in tax law after coming home one day to find a stack of letters from the IRS and discovering that her now ex-husband hadn’t been filing his individual tax returns for years prior to their marriage.

In 2002, Mary launched the Law Office of Mary E. King which concentrates in solving problems with the IRS. Few people—lawyers included!—want to deal with the IRS. But Mary has the persistence and drive to do it successfully.  Due to her years of experience, she is well-situated to help her clients get the best outcome possible considering their circumstances. She is passionate about helping her clients obtain a resolution to their tax issues which will allow them a fresh start and the ability to move forward in all areas of their life. The earlier people come to her, though, the more she can do for them. Some people mistakenly wait until the very last minute and hope for a miracle.

Among Mary’s staff she employs an enrolled agent—someone licensed by the IRS who is empowered to deal with tax issues throughout the US. Mary works on all cases personally, which means that her clients get help locally versus trusting some enormous national tax resolution company. That hands-on approach is just part of Mary’s commitment to solving problems and reducing tax worries. “Before a client leaves, I always ask ‘Do you feel better?’” she explains. “Or ‘Will you be able to sleep better tonight?’”

In her free time, Mary enjoys ping pong, going to University of Florida Gator football games and playing with her black Labrador Retriever. She has always been a car girl, and her latest toy is a yellow Audi.
