Terri Klauber, a member of Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida’s Suncoast Advisory Board, has been named one of the 100 women to KNOW across America. The recognition, from KNOW Women, a global female media company, showcases the most influential, achieved, and honorable women in society.”

Klauber is the co-chair and driving force behind “Cooking for Wishes,” an annual event that has raised millions of dollars to grant life-changing wishes for critically-ill children.

“I am humbled and honored to be recognized as one of the inaugural 100 Women to KNOW in America,” said Klauber, a Sarasota resident. “This organization is inspiring the next generation of female leaders by celebrating high-achieving women who lead, collaborate and give back!”

Award winners were nominated and went through an interview process before being selected. Klauber was recognized for her role in philanthropy as well as creating “boundless opportunities for the next generation of female leaders.”

“Terri is a difference-maker in the community and for our chapter,” said Norman Wedderburn, president & CEO of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. “Her selfless dedication to improving the lives of the children and families we serve is an inspiration to us all.”

In addition to her work with nonprofit organizations on the Suncoast, Klauber is also director of community engagement for Michael’s on East in Sarasota.

Make-A-Wish Southern Florida (www.wish.org/sfla) has granted more than 13,000 life-changing wishes since 1983 for children who have critical illnesses. It aims to grant a wish for every medically-eligible child in its territory and understands these experiences are more than nice, they’re necessary to the health and well-being of families at critical times in their lives.

Wish kids most often ‘wish to be’ (something), ‘wish to meet’ (someone), ‘wish to go’ (somewhere), ‘wish to have’ (something), or ‘wish to give’ (something) and the nonprofit organization makes this happen for the child and his/her entire family at no cost or obligation.

The Southern Florida chapter’s territory includes 22 counties/four regions: the Suncoast (Sarasota, Manatee, and surrounding counties), Tampa Bay, southeast and southwest Florida. It also includes the U.S. Virgin Islands.
