MagnifyGood Builds Nonprofit Capacity Through Communications Grant
MagnifyGood has given High Risk Hope the opportunity to develop strategic communications that connect for greater impact through a grant designed to build internal capacity.
When nonprofits have the resources to build internal capacity, they become more effective and sustainable with their missions. Understanding the value of capacity building for nonprofits, MagnifyGood developed the capacity-building grant with the hope of amplifying the work of social sector organizations and introducing them to the consultancy’s innovative approach to communications. MagnifyGood focuses on helping social sector organizations apply best business practices and strategic communications to connect in ways that elevate their impact and inspire community action.
High Risk Hope was selected based on its social media engagement during a month-long promotion coordinated by MagnifyGood. The promotion focused on magnifying the good work of social sector organizations by encouraging them to share stories of impact on social media with the hashtag #MagnifyGood.
“We are excited to help High Risk Hope implement strategies that will strengthen its impact and take the organization to the next level,” said Roxanne Joffe, founder and president of MagnifyGood. “We believe that effective communication is about understanding the point of view, emotions and dreams of people and then connecting deeply and emotionally with each of them. Our unique approach uncovers the most effective way to do this, and we want to give organizations the tools to enhance an often overlooked area of their outreach.”
High Risk Hope, which provides support for women and families experiencing high-risk pregnancies, will receive one-on-one consulting services, tailored to its immediate communications needs — such as social media training, donor research or communications strategy.
“As a small nonprofit with minimal staff, winning this grant from MagnifyGood will enable High Risk Hope to craft an impactful message and communications strategy that we don’t have the capacity to do on our own,” said Bailey Nicholas, executive director of High Risk Hope. “High Risk Hope is grateful for the opportunity to work with MagnifyGood as we seek to grow our meaningful impact on women and families experiencing trauma surrounding the premature birth of a child.”
