The Library Foundation for Sarasota County is pleased to announce the election of two new members to its board of directors, effective July 1. Alexandra Jupin and Mark Steinwachs will each serve three-year terms.
Jupin, a retired performing arts administrator, has devoted her personal and professional life to advocating for education, civil rights, and the arts. She is a passionate library advocate who brings over two decades of nonprofit board service to the Library Foundation. Steinwachs is a writer and editor who has taught composition and creative writing and currently serves as a contributing editor for Story Magazine. About his service on the board, Steinwachs says “Libraries have always provided a sanctuary for me. I can remember the exact shelves where I took down the books that would change my life. My hope is to offer that same opportunity to as many people as possible while also fostering strong communities in Sarasota.”
