Kettle of Fish Returns to Friday Fest

By  |

July 6, 2022 – Sarasota

June marked the return of Friday Fest after a two-year hiatus. After an extremely successful first event, the concert series continues this month with local favorite Kettle of Fish on July 15. Kettle of Fish plays festiblues, the kind of festival music that features blues, soul, and funk with the energy of rock ‘n’ roll. They make old songs new again, and their originals sound like classics.

Kettle of Fish is one of the hottest live acts in southwest Florida, headlining to thousands, and opening for such acts as Eddie Money, Marshall Tucker, Elvin Bishop, Dickey Betts, and many more playing originals and deep track covers. Kettle of Fish has won Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s Reader’s Poll for “Favorite Band” four times. It’s no wonder why they are a Friday Fest favorite.

Each Friday Fest event runs from 5-9 p.m. and is located on the lawn of the Van Wezel, the perfect spot to enjoy a summer sunset over Sarasota Bay. While blankets and lawn chairs are welcome at all Friday Fest events, outside food and beverages, including coolers, are prohibited. Friday Fest takes place rain or shine; in the event of inclement weather, the festival will move indoors to the Grand Foyer or the main stage of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Friday Fest is made possible because dedicated sponsors and volunteers.

Friday Fest on July 15 is part of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall’s participation in Independent Venue Week. For additional information on Friday Fest and the other shows coming to the Hall, visit VanWezel.org.
