July 13, 2022 – Sarasota
The Junior League of Sarasota (JLS) invites local nonprofit organizations to apply for Community Projects and Community Grants. Applications are now open and will close on August 1, 2022.
Over the past four years, the JLS has awarded more than $200,000 in grants to over 30 local non-profit organizations that support its mission of “improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.” Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to projects that impact any of the following four priority categories:
- Children
- Women
- Families
- Aging out of Foster Care
Special consideration will go towards organizations that the COVID-19 Crisis has deeply impacted.
In addition to grants, the Junior League of Sarasota provides hands-on service opportunities for its members through community projects that can be completed in one day or less. Members of the Done-in-a-Day Committee help plan, collect supplies and provide volunteers to turn dream projects into reality.
“We are proud to be able to serve our community both financially and through our Done-in-a Day Committee,” said Lindsay Nock, President of the Junior League of Sarasota. “It’s a privilege to provide financial stability and opportunities for a variety of local organizations. I encourage all eligible nonprofits to apply for either our grant funding or community projects.”
Applications are available online at: www.jlsarasota.org/community. Community grant applications and community project applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on August 1, 2022.
