Students at Community Day School in Sarasota are using their creativity for a meaningful cause, by crafting handmade bowls to be featured at the All Faiths Food Bank Bowls of Hope event on Sunday, November 10th.
This annual event at Ed Smith Stadium – which gathers the community to fight hunger, and utilizes the talent of these young artists – is a testament to the school’s dedication to service and compassion, according to Head of School Dan Caesar.
He added that Community Day School emphasizes the importance of giving back through student-led mitzvah projects. Each year, K-8 classrooms engage in meaningful service initiatives designed to foster empathy, responsibility, and community involvement. This year, the ceramic art club chose to support All Faiths Food Bank by creating unique bowls that symbolize nourishment and hope.
“Our students understand that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a significant impact. By participating in Bowls of Hope, they’re not just making art—they’re creating a ripple effect of generosity and compassion throughout our community,” Caesar said.
The Bowls of Hope event provides attendees with an opportunity to select handcrafted bowls as a reminder of those facing hunger in Sarasota. Proceeds from the event will support All Faiths Food Bank’s mission to end food insecurity in the region.
