Dennis Murphy, the President and CEO of Sarasota’s Gulfside Bank, was named to the Board of Directors of the Florida Bankers Association (FBA), the bank announced today.
“I’m honored to be named to the FBA board,” said Murphy. “I’m looking forward to working with the board to advance the interests of the Sarasota-area financial community.”
Established in 1888, the Florida Bankers Association is one of the state’s oldest trade associations, with over 200 member institutions of all sizes. Deposits of FBA member banks account for 95 percent of the state’s total bank deposits.
The FBA board works to set policy and oversee the general operation of the association. Individual board members have a wide range of responsibilities, including meeting with congressional leaders and federal regulators, addressing important issues facing the Florida banking industry, and supporting the FBA’s educational and public service missions.
