Stressed out? Tense? Worried? (Who isn’t?) Consider meditation at The Paradise Center on tranquil Longboat Key. Just a few minutes can help wipe away the day’s stress and restore your inner peace. It’s simple, inexpensive, and it doesn’t require any special equipment.
“Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. Today it is commonly used for relaxation and stress reduction…two absolute necessities in the 21st Century,” says The Paradise Center’s Executive Director Suzy Brenner.
The new Meditation & Stress Relief class will be guided by Sandi Love, the center’s current Qi Gong instructor and will focus on guided meditation –sometimes called guided imagery or visualization. It will also incorporate a variety of calming techniques, such as tapping, self-massage, body awareness, gentle stretching and more. It’s an hour of well-deserved selfcare. Class participants may be seated in a chair or on a mat. Loose, comfy clothing is recommended, and shoes are optional. Prior experience is not necessary. On October 15th, Dr. Loren Batsell of Longboat’s Healing Well Acupuncture & Integrated Medicine will lead the meditation.
Meditation & Stress Relief will take place at The Paradise Center Friday mornings at 11am. It is Free for Members, $10 for Non-Members and does not require reservations – walk-ins are welcome.
