Goodwill Manasota to Host Multi-Employer Job Fair

By  |

Goodwill Manasota’s Job Connection program is hosting a multi-employer job fair on Tuesday, May 7, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at its corporate campus (2705 51st Ave. E., Bradenton). More than 35 of the area’s top employers are signed up to participate, all with job openings they are seeking to fill.

Numerous industries will be represented during the event, from construction, food service, professional services and retail operations to nonprofits – including Goodwill, government entities, senior care and healthcare organizations, and hospitality. The U.S. Census Bureau will be on hand as it looks to staff itself to strength in preparation for the 2020 census. Candidates of all experience levels are welcome; they are asked to bring a resume and be dressed for on-the-spot interviews.

Goodwill’s Job Connection program is a free service that is designed to help individuals obtain long-term employment or to transition to better-paying jobs. Through the program, community members can get career counseling, interest and aptitude assessments, assistance with resume and cover letter writing skills, interview strengthening exercises, and application submission guidance. The program provides invaluable assistance to all members of the community but is particularly critical for those with barriers to employment: individuals with disabilities, veterans transitioning to civilian life, ex-offenders, those with educational or economic disadvantages, and more.

“When people have jobs, they have security – a step in the right direction on the road to self-sufficiency,” said Bob Rosinsky, president and CEO of Goodwill Manasota. “Our Job Connection services help people who would like to make a better life for themselves and their families. We are thrilled at the number of local companies who will be present during our job fair and are hopeful that job seekers will enjoy success during the event.”
