Girls Inc. Announces New Board of Directors

Girls Inc. of Sarasota County is pleased to announce the appointment of four
new members to its Board of Directors: Eric Adams, Nancy Boxill-Thompson, Caryn Patterson,
and Melissa Perrin. These community leaders bring a wealth of experience and expertise that
will help guide Girls Inc. in its ongoing efforts to inspire all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold.
President & CEO, Angie Stringer shares, “We are honored to welcome our new board members
to our team. Their collective experience will strengthen our efforts to build the next generation of
strong, smart, and bold leaders.
Eric Adams is currently employed by Deloitte Consulting and is a leader in their Banking &
Capital Markets Enterprise Performance team focused on large scale Finance Modernizations.
Eric has extensive experience in managing large scale global Finance Transformations, IT
related services and Merger and Acquisition advisory work for Fortune 100 companies over the
past 28+ years. Eric leads Deloitte’s FSI Oracle practice in North America and was a leader in
developing their 2023 FSI Tech Strategy. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2004, Eric was employed
by Ernst & Young for 6 years, leading their Finance Transformation practice in North America.
Nancy Boxill-Thompson holds a Ph.D. in child psychology from Union Institute and University
and has served as a faculty member at Emory University and Ogelthorpe University. She has
been named one of the Atlanta Business League’s “Top 100 Black Women of Influence” four times and has received the Georgia Voices for Children award and Spelman College’s Local
Community Service award. Nancy has dedicated her life to public policy, urban affairs, child
development and poverty, advocating for women and children.
Caryn Patterson is a longstanding Girls Inc. supporter, with extensive experience in
volunteering across our community. Caryn has been a co-chair of the Celebration Luncheon for
two years where attendance to the event more than doubled under her leadership. Caryn has also
been a member of the Junior League of Sarasota since 1998, and has served in multiple
leadership roles and the executive board. Currently, Caryn owns a wellness company focusing on
personal training, yoga, and overall health. Prior to her newest venture, Caryn has worked as an
IT consultant for Price Waterhouse and as the VP of Sales and Marketing at Super-Sensitive
Musical String Co. Caryn grew up in the Sarasota Symphony program and is an experienced
violinist. She is married to her husband, Steve, and is a proud mother to Jonah and Caleigh.
Melissa Perrin is a passionate advocate for girls and education. She holds a B.S. degree in
elementary education and is a dedicated mom of four, including two daughters, with her oldest
just starting medical school. An active member of the Junior League of Sarasota, Melissa also
serves on the boards of the Cotillion Club of Sarasota and SYC Cares, the philanthropic arm of
the Sarasota Yacht Club. Her commitment to the community is evident through her roles as a
committee member and chair for various nonprofit fundraisers, benefiting organizations like
Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Girl’s Inc., and SYC Cares.
The officers of the 2024 – 2025 Girls Inc. Board of Directors are Judy Love, Chair; Jim Rolfes,
Vice-Chair; Mary Pat Radford, Secretary; and Eric Adams, Treasurer. Board members are: Dr.
LaShawn Frost, Jennifer Horiuchi, Caryn Patterson, Melissa Perrin, Dr. Nancy BoxillThompson, Clolita Vitale, Danny Watts, Lois B. Wilkins, and Angie Stringer (President &
CEO).
