Fresh Fridays Dances Into February

Fresh off the heels of an all-out bash with January’s 80s-themed block party, the Downtown Improvement District presents an evening of moving and shaking with HEARTBEATZ on February 3^rd. 

The February event returns to State Street with an all-new headlining act that’s new to Sarasota. Resonance is a self-proclaimed “party band” with six members, featuring two stellar vocalists singing lush harmonies and soaring high notes to fresh arrangements of the most danceable hits of the last 50 years. Their resume includes illustrious private events on Florida’s east coast to go along with appearances at Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. 

“Finding great talent from around the region is a great way to keep these events fresh and elevated,” says event organizer Joseph Grano of Next-Mark. Another fresh event feature is the return of professional dancers from Dynasty Dance Clubs, who are also event co-sponsors for the night. Fresh Fridays fans might remember the dance studio from last year’s Dance Under the Stars event. For HEARTBEATZ, members from the dance studio will be hitting the dance floor and encouraging guests to put their best foot forward to a variety of styles. 

Food and beverage offerings from select downtown hospitality partners will also be featured, to go along with the signature giveaways that have become fan favorites of the event series’ growing list of regulars. The event begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 3^rd, with State Street closed to vehicle traffic from 1:30 p.m. to midnight from Lemon Avenue to the State Street parking garage entrance. The garage will remain accessible from Orange Avenue or from Ringling Boulevard. In addition, ample on-street parking is available in the surrounding area.
