First Step of Sarasota Strategically Positions Its New Organization

First Step of Sarasota continues to build on the strategic positioning of the new organization by announcing a new slate of officers and three new board members.
The strategic unification of First Step of Sarasota and Coastal Behavioral Healthcare was initiated to create a comprehensive system of care and more impactful solutions for those with mental health and addiction disorders. The joining of the three new board members solidifies the unification and the strength of the organization. First Step of Sarasota has heightened its level of community response and increased its complexity of services to meet the growing needs of the community.
First Step of Sarasota announced three new board members and its current slate of officers. Kathleen (Katy) Barclay, former Senior VP of Kroger Co., David F. Lyons former CEO with Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines and John Leslie a recognized thought leader in Healthcare Information Technology.
New board member Kathleen (Katy) Barclay was previously CHRO and Senior Vice President of Kroger Co., a $110B grocery retail company until her retirement in 2015. Before joining The Kroger Co. Katy spent 30 years at General Motors Corporation serving her last 12 years as their Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources. Katy currently serves on the Boards of Five Below and Kontoor Brands.
David F. Lyons had a long and successful career with The Coca-Cola Company holding positions in business strategy, new business ventures, region director and division president and subsequently took over as CEO and President of Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines. David’s extensive career with The Coca-Cola Company included his role as Managing Director for the 10 country Central Africa Region and Vice President of the Southern Africa Division. David is also a Certified Professional Coach from the College of Executive Coaching.
John Leslie’s thirty plus years in the Healthcare information Technology industry spans many different aspects of healthcare IT. John was the founder, CTO and Director of Ellumen Inc. a company providing Healthcare IT services supporting the Department of Defense and Veterans Administration. Prior to this, John was the Chief Architect for Healthcare Solutions at Northrop Grumman. John graduated from Penn State University.
First Step of Sarasota new slate of officers are as follows: Chair, Deputy Chief Patrick Robinson, Vice –Chair, Ron Turner, Secretary, Jack Cox and Treasurer, Jay Miller.
