Federation Hires Camp Marci Lynn Director
March 1, 2021 – Sarasota
The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee is pleased to announce Robby Etzkin will be joining its staff in the position of Senior Director of Camp Marci Lynn. The camp will open on the Federation’s Larry & Mary Greenspon Family Campus for Jewish Life on McIntosh Rd. in June, 2022.
Prior to accepting this role, Robby was the Executive Director of The Roth Family JCC of Greater Orlando, directly overseeing the camp in which he grew up, along with other JCC departments such as sports, aquatics, fitness, membership, youth, teens, cultural arts, young adults, marketing, and maintenance. Before arriving back in the sunshine state in 2012, Robby was the Director of JCC Summer Camps in Austin, TX, where his camps won two national awards in six years and enrollment reached nearly 1,200 campers. Also during his career, Robby served as the Director of the Weinstein JCC’s 114-acre Camp Hilbert in Richmond, VA for three years, earning a national award for programming.
Robby is a sought-after mentor in both the Jewish camp and JCC Maccabi worlds and looks forward to bringing his experience to Sarasota-Manatee. He says, “I cannot think of a job that could be a better fit for me, combining all of my passions, experience and education. I have much respect and admiration for the high-quality programs and services the Federation already provides. I look forward to leading the way in adding yet another important program and creating a five-star camp that fulfills the Federation’s mission.
Personally, Robby is looking forward to calling Sarasota home. He will be working remotely beginning March 1, and relocating to Sarasota in May. The former UF mascot and drumline president said, “Staying in Gator Country doesn’t hurt either.”
