At the heart of Sarasota’s vibrant cultural renaissance are two visionary leaders: Tania Castroverde Moskalenko and Dr. Jenne K. Britell. Together, they are building a future for the Sarasota Performing Arts Center that promises to be a shining example of inclusivity, education, and artistic excellence, enriching the community for generations to come.

Castroverde Moskalenko, CEO of the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation, brings a deeply personal connection to the arts. The native Cuban’s earliest exposure to classical music was listening to NPR’s Adventures in Good Music, fueling her passion for breaking down barriers to the arts. Under her leadership, the new arts center aims to overcome traditional barriers, creating a dynamic hub where creativity flourishes, education thrives, and world-class performances are within reach of everyone.

“This project is about more than bringing Broadway to Sarasota,” she explains. “It’s about weaving the arts into the fabric of our community and ensuring its doors are open to all.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Britell, the driven Vice Chair of the Board, has been a trailblazer throughout her career. She has spent a lifetime shattering glass ceilings, first in the corporate world and now in the arts. Tasked with guiding the search for the ideal architect for the new performing arts center, Dr. Britell exudes a passion for education that infuses every aspect of the project vision. She is committed to fostering an environment where global artists and educators converge, elevating Sarasota’s artistic landscape for residents and visitors alike.

In recent months, these exceptional women have tirelessly engaged with the community, balancing public input with a design philosophy that will endure for decades.

Together, Tania Castroverde Moskalenko and Dr. Jenne K. Britell are leading a movement to transform Sarasota’s cultural future, championing a vision where the arts are not just preserved, but actively made accessible to all.
