Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding voters there is only one day left to request a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed to you for the August 20 Primary Election.

The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed to you for the Primary Election is Thursday, August 8 at 5 p.m.

“There’s still time to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the August 20 Primary Election,” Turner said. “But time is running out. We must receive your request by the 5 p.m. deadline on Thursday.”

Voters may submit a vote-by-mail request:

“Voting by mail is one of the three ways to vote in Florida,” Turner said. “It is a secure and convenient way to cast your ballot, but the first step is to submit your request.”

Turner also reminds voters that Florida is a closed primary state, which means only voters who are registered members of a political party may vote in that party’s primary election. For NPA (No Party Affiliation) voters, there will still be important races to vote on, including nonpartisan school board races.
