The nation’s largest privately-held home builder celebrated more than 40 years of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives by hosting the fourth annual David Weekley Homes World’s Largest Showcase of Homes. From April 1-30, more than 7,200 visitors stopped by model or quick move-in homes across the country to see current innovations in design and décor trends.
As part of the company’s charitable and philanthropic efforts, a $5 donation was given to a local nonprofit for each visitor who registered with a sales consultant during the month-long Showcase of Homes event, amounting to more than $36,000 for 20 local charities. In Tampa and Sarasota, nearly $2,600 was donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.
“It is always so wonderful to get the call that David Weekley Homes wants to continue to work with us and give a gracious donation not just to our chapter but to chapters around the nation,” said Jackie Shimberg, event coordinator for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.
This donation is one of the many ways David Weekley Homes lives out its purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives, joining with team members, homeowners and community partners across the nation to make a difference through volunteer and philanthropic efforts.
“I always love getting to contact Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay and let them know we’ll be donating to them,” said Julia Sullo, warranty coordinator for David Weekley Homes in Tampa. “It is such a good cause and they really make a huge impact on so many families.”
