Owner of Darci boutique

“The dot on the ‘i’ is a sparkle because I love sparkles. There’s not enough sparkle in the world,” says Darci Jacob, who has been wardrobing Sarasota women for nearly 30 years. “I’ve always loved dressing people. It makes me feel good when someone walks out of my store happy.”

For 20 years, Darci was the very popular Senior Manager of Caché, a chic store in South Gate. When it closed in 2015, she and a business partner launched their own boutique, Panache. In 2020, Darci went solo, renaming her story Darci to ensure Caché clients could easily find her. Offering sizes from 0 to 20, Darci caters to all occasions, from casual wear to black-tie events, and wants her clients to feel confident and beautiful.

Darci is also the go-to person for fashion shows, organizing as many as 26 shows in one season (September through May). Since 2017, she has served as the fashion chair for SPARCCle on the Runway, local non-profit SPARCC’s biggest fundraising event. Last year’s event sold out. “I never turn anyone down if I can. Most of the fashion shows I do give to a local charity.”

Darci is a proud member of Sisterhood For Good, which fundraised $153,000 this year for local charities, and is a big proponent of community support. “I’m blessed. I have a roof over my head and food in my belly. I’m very grateful and I believe it’s important to give back.”

“I love Sarasota because women support each other,” she says. “My team—Jackie, my right hand, and Debbie, my left—I couldn’t do what I do without them. They’re my girls, my family. I love what I do and it’s not a job when you do what you love!”
