Cooking Up an IPO: Lessons in Leadership and Public Company Communications

By  |

February 8, 2022 – Sarasota

First Watch is cooking up more than just pancakes and eggs these days: it’s also serving up a plate of investor relations. At this month’s professional development program, the Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) will present “Cooking Up an IPO: Lessons in Leadership and Public Company Communications.” The event will feature Eleni Kouvatsos, APR, First Watch’s Director of Communications and take place on February 17, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the First Watch Restaurant Group headquarters (8725 Pendery Place, Bradenton) and include lunch. It will also be available to watch virtually.

Kouvatsos, who has been with First Watch since 2015, currently leads communication efforts for the brand including its earned media, crisis communication and customer care strategies and teams. She was intimately involved in First Watch’s IPO in 2021 and today plays a crucial role in the newly public company’s investor relations efforts. At the event, Kouvatsos will discuss her experience in working toward the award-winning restaurant concept’s IPO, from initial strategic planning and complex communications implications to ringing the opening bell at the Nasdaq.

“In the field of public relations, practitioners are often thought of as simply writers and storytellers, though the practice is much more dynamic than that,” said Melanie Reda, APR, CPRC, president of the CWC-FPRA. “We’re thrilled to have Eleni share her recent experiences working toward First Watch’s IPO in a session ideal for those interested in expanding their knowledge of public company communications and investor relations.”

Attendees have the option to attend the event in person (capacity is limited; first come, first served) or virtually. Tickets for the in-person program include lunch provided by First Watch and are $25 for FPRA members and $35 for guests; tickets for the virtual program are $10 for FPRA members and $15 for guests. To register, visit cwcfpra.com/events. This event is sponsored by First Watch and CWC-FPRA annual sponsor Next-Mark.
