Cooking for Wishes Comes to Circus Arts Conservatory

November 30, 2022 – Sarasota

A Sarasota tradition, and one of the region’s most unique fundraisers, is making some changes designed to increase the impact it can have for children and families on the Suncoast.

“Cooking for Wishes,” a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida whose proceeds will grant life-changing wishes for critically-ill children, is moving to Circus Arts Conservatory and will be held at night (6:30-10:00 p.m.) for the first time Thursday, February 23, 2023. The changes increase access for individuals and corporations that were anxious to be part of the annual event.

Now in its 13th year, Cooking for Wishes is a four-course, interactive dinner where guests at each table prepare their own meal under the direction of Executive Chef Jamil Piñeda and Phil Mancini from Michael’s On East. The event also features wine selected by Michael Klauber, live and silent auctions, and perspective from a family on the impact of its wish experience.

Terri Klauber and Renee Phinney co-chair the committee of Sarasota-based Make-A-Wish supporters that plan the event for the nonprofit. Its theme is “Wishes in Wonderland.”

“The fundraising done at Cooking for Wishes is vital to fulfilling the Make-A-Wish mission and improving the lives of local children and families impacted by serious illnesses,” said Terri Klauber. “We feel the changes being made for 2023 will enable more people to enjoy all that is offered and better understand why we’re so passionate about making dreams come true for those in our community that need it most.”

Cooking for Wishes is presented by Exceptional Dentistry of Sarasota. Wish sponsors include Sondra and Gerald Biller.
