September 23 – Sarasota

New College Foundation announces it has received a strategic partnership grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support the college’s 43rd annual Clambake event.

MaryAnne Young, the executive director of the New College Foundation, says “our annual event allows us to put a spotlight on the need for scholarships for our students. Scholarships are vital in making New College attractive to the best and brightest students, regardless of financial status.”

Funds from the Community Foundation will be used to support local students from the Sarasota-Manatee region.  The Community Foundation has been one of the Clambake’s top supporters for almost a decade.

MaryAnne says, “Clambake is a fabulous way to be an integral part of this effort. Guests can invest in the future of New College, while mingling with our extraordinary students and faculty and enjoying a breathtaking sunset and inspired feast. It has been one of Sarasota’s favorite events for decades.”

Every year, the New College Foundation provides more than $2 million for student scholarships, faculty and student research, academic excellence, and campus enhancements.
