With a growing staff of 32 members, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County has created a new role – Director of Organizational Capacity – to plan, direct, and provide oversight for its team member and office resources. Lisa Carter, MS, will spearhead these efforts by building relationships with staff to identify needs and development opportunities, overseeing recruitment and outreach, managing technology and other facility services, as well as cultivating and maintaining a culture based upon diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Carter brings more than 20 years of broad-based management experience as a human resources and operations executive to her position at the Community Foundation. Over the years, she has held leadership roles with companies such as US Foodservice, Airgas, Tidewell Hospice, and Ensemble Health Partners. Most recently, she served as Director of Human Resources, Education & Customer Service at Community Health Systems.
Carter holds an MS in Human Resource Development from Villanova University and graduated magna cum laude with a BS/BA from New York Institute of Technology. Throughout her career, she has volunteered for numerous causes, including CareerSource Suncoast, Manatee Technical College, and the South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum.
“I am honored to join and take part in the life-changing work happening at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County,” says Carter. “Its mission to create lasting impact across generations with donor generosity motivates and inspires me to contribute to the success of the organization, its staff, and the larger community we serve.”
