Shaun Greenspan, Co-Founder of TriForce Pictures, had his first credit as an associate producer on a theatrical release of the feature film SKIN, starring Jamie Bell, Danielle Macdonald, and Vera Farmiga.
SKIN, which is based on the true story of Bryon Widner, is about a destitute young man, raised by racist skinheads and notorious among white supremacists, who turns his back on hatred and violence to transform his life, with the help of a black activist and the woman he loves.
Unfortunately, this is the world we live in, and SKIN is a very timely movie.
In 2018, while attending The Sarasota County Film and Entertainment Office’s Annual “Six and A Mix” multi-event for film, television and other media production community professionals at the Suncoast Technical College, Shaun met one of the invited guests, Jenny Halper, a producer from Maven Pictures, the main production company for Skin. Shaun pitched a screenplay he was writing to her, and she pitched him one of Maven’s (SKIN) which was still looking for capital.
Shaun read the script and decided that he should put aside his own story for the time being, and do everything he could to help put SKIN into production.
Skin premiered at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) where it was immediately bought by A24 and DIRECTV for theatrical and streaming release, then headed to Europe for it’s European premiere at BERLINALE (Berlin Film Festival) and finally back for its US premiere at TRIBECA. Shaun attended all of the screenings.
Skin the short film, which was a “proof of concept” for the feature film Skin, both of which written, produced, and directed by Israeli Filmmaker Guy Nattiv, won the Oscar this year for “Best Live-Action Short Film.
SKIN continues to have its theatrical release domestically, internationally, and is now available on ITUNES, AMAZON, DIRECTV, and ON-DEMAND
When Shaun is not raising capital for films, he’s a writer, producer, and director at Triforce Pictures, a local film / video production company who produces commercials and social media content for lawyers, doctors, architects and any business ready to tell their story.
