Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation Board Grants $3 Million

Recent funding from Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation focuses on supporting health and human service needs, providing equitable pathways to higher education, and reinforcing workforce and mentorship development.

Cultivating and Retaining Mentors
A three-year $405,000 grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast to support the End the Wait mentorship program. Funds will be used to recruit, train, and retain high-impact mentors in our region.
Increasing Access to Affordable Healthcare
A $345,000 grant to CenterPlace Health, our community’s federally qualified health center, for expansion of services, technology, and infrastructure.
Empowering Students to Achieve Their American Dream
A two-year $300,000 grant to UnidosNow to support the Future Leaders Academy, a comprehensive college prep and career readiness program that serves primarily low-income, first-generation Hispanic/Latino students.
Investing in Bright Academic Futures
A $300,000 grant to provide Florida Prepaid Scholarships to deserving students and invest in their future success.
Inspiring Everyday People to Make Sustainable Environmental Choices
A three-year $284,240 grant to Science and Environment Council of Southwest Florida to develop a digital action toolkit to encourage more households to adopt sustainable environmental practices.
Building Bridges to Paid Internship Opportunities
A $250,000 grant to the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Foundation for the Opportunities for All program, which will connect local nonprofits and small businesses with talented up-and-coming professionals.
Supporting Public Policy and Fiscal Research
A $150,000 grant to Florida Policy Institute for public policy research around early learning, education, health outcomes, and social safety nets.
Maximizing Nonprofit Impact Through Logistic Support
A $150,000 grant to Restore Global for its Sarasota County regional expansion. The organization serves other nonprofit partners by providing access to discounted bulk supplies and negotiated contract rates for goods.
Providing Exceptional Inclusive Education for Students
A $150,000 grant to Hershorin Schiff Community Day School to support the Beyond Scholarships program to provide tuition assistance for families for early education.
Opening New Doors for Deserving Teens
A $149,600 grant to Take Stock in Children of Sarasota County to provide low-income, at-risk students with mentorship opportunities and college scholarships.
Providing Low-cost Reproductive Healthcare and Outreach Education
A $130,000 grant to Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida to support family planning and prevention services and expand the Peer Education Program for young adults.
Reimagining Delivery of Arts Education
A $90,000 grant to Van Wezel Foundation to support the ongoing delivery of cultural education to students and the community.
Healing Invisible Wounds
A $75,000 grant to Operation Warrior Resolution to support innovative, holistic treatments for veterans.
Emerging Needs
An additional $175,000 in funding has been awarded to allow Barancik Foundation to explore new initiatives focused on emerging community needs.
