Celebrating 80 Years of World-Class Performances

The Sarasota Concert Association proudly marks its 80th anniversary, presenting a star-studded 2024-25 season of extraordinary performances . As always, Sarasota audiences will have the opportunity to hear an exciting variety of world-renowned orchestras, soloists, and special events throughout the season.

The season opens with the Grammy Award-winning male vocal ensemble known around the world as “an orchestra of voices.” Chanticleer will perform a program of Renaissance classics and holiday favorites on December 3, 2024.

Celebrated French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet makes his Sarasota debut in a one-night-only recital on January 15, 2025. Known for his ability to convey a wide dynamic range on the piano, Thibaudet will perform Debussy’s Preludes Books I and II.

The beloved Cleveland Orchestra returns on January 26, 2025, under the baton of Kahchun Wong, with an electrifying concert featuring Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Violinist Sayaka Shoji will join the orchestra for Beethoven’s fiery Violin Concerto.

The season continues with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra on February 13, 2025, featuring pianist Maxim Lando performing Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The program also includes Dvořák’s ever-popular Symphony No. 9, From the New World.

On February 27, 2025, join us for An Evening with Yo-Yo Ma: Reflections in Words and Music. World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma performs a selection of his favorite musical works and shares stories about a life dedicated to music as well as how it shaped his thinking about art, human nature and the search for meaning.

A particular highlight of the season is the 300th-anniversary celebration of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons on March 14, 2025, featuring the internationally acclaimed ensemble Les Arts Florissants with baroque violinist Théotime Langlois de Swarte. This concert will include all four of Vivaldi’s seasonal concertos and other baroque masterpieces.

The season concludes on March 24, 2025, with the National Symphony Orchestra, led by its esteemed Music Director Gianandrea Noseda, performing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Erich Korngold’s virtuosic Violin Concerto with soloist Hilary Hahn. Hahn’s brilliance as a Grammy-winning violinist will complement the perfect finale to an extraordinary season.
