Boomer Beauty

By  |

By Julie Milton

There’s a part of me that would have loved to live in Sarasota in the 60s, 70s or 80s. I can only imagine how fun and carefree it was back then. Few cars, beaches with tons of empty space, an evolving arts and culture scene, and lots of friendly people, mostly Mid-Westerners, who quite likely knew your name. Kind of like Cheers on steroids.

With this our Boomer Beauty issue, we thought it fitting to showcase images from Sarasota Scene’s 63-year-old archives of people who graced our covers during these decades. They are our Boomers of today. Are they still a part of our Sarasota scene?  Did you know one or more of them?

During this crazy time of added stress and strife, we all could use a nostalgic pause and a smile. Enjoy this walk down memory lane, and if you recognize anyone featured, reaching out to them may certainly brighten your day and theirs as well. Who couldn’t use that right now?
