Kimberley. Jill. Aimee. Ariane. We often see them around town, whether for their work or their philanthropy. They’re all beautiful women inside and out.  Just what do they do to keep themselves looking so great? We had to know. They graciously obliged and shared their best internal and external beauty secrets.

FAVORITE PRODUCTS

To tame the wild, chia pet look in our humid clime, I like to mix it up with shampoos and conditioners.  I do several keratin treatments a year and use Oribe, Kerastase and Brazilian Blowout Volume products.

I favor moisturizing lipsticks and get tons of compliments when I wear “Trophy Wife” by Huda.  Since I fly a lot, I’m also obsessed with super moisturizing Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks.

SKINCARE

For day, it’s ReVive SPF Moisture Cream and for night, it’s their ReVive Renewal Cream. I wait for department store “Friends & Family” discounts to stock up. I’m also hooked on SK-II Facial Treatment Essense—a before-moisturizer treatment with micronutrients from Japan I use day and night like a toner.

HAIR

I love, love, love Amanda Vincent who I go to regularly for cut, color and style. I also like Euduz, and Marmalade.

MANI-PEDI

Paint Nail Bar is one of my favorites for a chemical-free mani/pedi. My daughter and I will run into New Happy Nail on a Sunday for a quick mommy/daughter side-by-side pedicure to laugh and have fun.  My favorite pedicure red is OPI’s “I Am Not Really a Waitress” Red. (But P.S., I was actually a part-time waitress during high school and college!)

EXERCISE & NUTRITION

When I’m in New York for work, I can easily do more than 15,000 steps per day. I’ve gone to Mantra Fitness for years, and also Pure Barre—both are great for toning and core exercise.

My husband and daughter both lean towards gluten free, so 90% of my life is a pretty healthy eating pattern with lower fat proteins, plenty of vegetables and rice.  I also love dark green, cold-pressed juices, so I am a regular at Whole Foods and Crop.

SLEEP & RELAXATION

My husband always laughs that I go nonstop all day long until my head hits the pillow, and then I am out cold. I sleep best in a very cold room with blackout shades and one Melatonin gummy.

To relax, I’m trying to get better at meditating.  When the stock market gets crazy, meditation helps give me some white space from the news and craziness.

HEALTH

I’ve gone to a holistic MD in Tampa for years for proactive health maintenance.  We do annual blood tests, and adjust vitamins and supplements as needed. I have found there is normally a holistic approach and answer to most day-to-day ailments.

AIMEE’S FAVORITE TECHS

  • The Trish McEvoy makeup artists at The Met
  • Makeup Artist Anne Casanova

  • All the artists at Blow La La

Ariane Dart

Ariane’s philanthropic impact on our community is widely known. As chair of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation’s Gala, her formidable fundraising capabilities help raise funds to provide our community advanced health care. This benevolent and beautiful mom of two also devotes her talents to 40 Carrots, Out-of-Door Academy and Ringling College, as well as being an accomplished driver who enjoys car rallies around the world.

FAVORITE PRODUCTS

Chanel is my go-to makeup for foundation and lipstick and I only use Chanel eye shadows on special occasions.  I prefer natural, soft shades. For under-eye concealer, I like to use Chanel’s Correcteur Perfection, and on my lips I like Rouge Coco gloss. I also prefer Chanel’s Sublimage skincare line. The main product ingredient is from the Madagascar vanilla plant—rich in revitalizing properties.

HAIR

Who doesn’t have a frizz problem in our humidity! I’ve been using John Frieda Frizz Ease hair products for over 25 years. They work really well on my hair. For cut and style, I go to Mark Walker of Shear Rituals Salon.

MANI-PEDI

I get manicures with Essie’s Picket Fence polish and OPI’s The Beige of Reason Infinite Shine 2. They have  a clean, fresh look.  For my pedicure, I like lavender spa pedicures starting with a lavender scrub to exfoliate and a soothing lavender lotion massaged into my legs and feet.

EXERCISE

I love being active. I work out with a personal trainer in a gym, practice the Joseph Pilates-style of Pilates, love downhill skiing especially in Vail, and playing tennis. I get an adrenalin rush from driving fast cars.  Every year I drive McLarens and Ferraris at Sebring and Daytona and intermittently at tracks around the world. I also participate in car rallies in the US and in Europe. It’s an important part of my life!

NUTRITION

I eat mainly meat and seafood and try to have plenty of fruits and vegetables. But generally, I eat what I want and stay away from fried or high-fat foods except on rare occasions. Daily vitamins are also part of my routine.

RELAXATION

Healing massages allow me to fully relax. They definitely eliminate stress and are very energizing.  I love spending time with my son and daughter, and with my animals, as well as reading books. Three books that I recently enjoyed were Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton, Rebel Queen by Michelle Moran, and All the Light We Can Not See by Anthony Doerr.

SMILE

Daily care of brushing my teeth two times a day and flossing after every meal is essential.  I have biannual check-ups as well.

Jill Morris

Striking and brilliant, Dr. Jill Morris is widely known in town as a top cosmetic dentist highly skilled in dental facial esthetics. For Dr. Morris, crafting perfect smiles goes beyond dazzling teeth.  She is also an expert in neuromuscular dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, facial and dental lasers, Botox and dermal fillers, bite reconstruction. and orthopedic dentistry, through which she helps people with sleep apnea.

FAVORITE PRODUCTS

For brows, which are so important to our look, I use the eyebrow makeup and tools by Anastasia. Their stencils make it easy to shape the perfect brow. The line contains gels, definers, pomades and powders. My foundation is Bye Bye Foundation by IT Costmetics.  It feels so light on your skin yet it’s a full coverage moisturizer with SPF 50+ that was developed by plastic surgeons. Best yet, you can buy it at Ulta. Easy!

SKINCARE

I love all of the organic, plant-based House of Hilt products. They are natural and effective. Plus, the company was founded by two local women – Jackie Rogers and Natasha Crow.

Laser treatments to the skin are very important to keep the skin rejuvenated. Lasers stimulate collagen growth to reverse crepe skin and to thicken the dermis layer, besides removing age spots, spider veins, moles, etc.  I am fortunate to have lasers in my office that do just that.

HAIR

I have thin, limp, brittle hair, so keeping it shorter makes it easier to style.

NON-SURGICAL PROCEDURES

I’ve used Botox for the past 15 years and have very few wrinkles. For sags and collagen rejuvenation, I use PDO threads, which I am trained in doing. The threads redefine the facial contours and help increase collagen production. It’s like getting a face lift without the surgery and it can last for a few years. I also use filler conservatively in my cheeks and lips.

EXERCISE

My favorite is 45-minute vigorous bicycling 4 times a week. A few times a week I lift weights, but I also use a Power Plate machine, which  gives the body’s muscles a high-speed workout by using vibrations to stimulate them to contract and relax. Six days a week I do kinesiology stretching, which is great for good muscle flexibility.

NUTRITION

I don’t eat processed foods and I’m not a calorie counter. Allen Carr’s Easyway technique helped me quit all sugar. I eat whole foods following the Paleo diet and follow Dr. Steve Gundry’s lectin-free diet.

SLEEP & RELAXATION

Since I traveled so many years while teaching and lecturing, getting a good night’s rest was not always easy. I find using an eye mask and a noise masker helps me get quality sleep.

To relax, I meditate daily. I also have a positive habit tracker that I fill out daily. I stopped watching TV news 12 years ago and minimize social media to eliminate a lot of negativity. I read non-fiction books daily that are inspiring and love biographies about exceptional people. The mind is the most powerful tool we have to create a better life for ourselves. If we master our mind, we have a happier and healthier life.

SMILE

As a dentist, I know that teeth can really age a person and impact health. Gum health and flossing daily are so important. Whitening or veneers can really make a person look vital.

For my toothpaste, I use a homemade product—baking soda and organic coconut oil. THE BEST!

HEALTHY TIP

Hypnotherapy to forgive past injuries is the best thing you can do for your health. Dig deep and forgive people, keep a positive mind, and eliminate fear.

Kimberley Pelyk

Beautiful, fun-loving and dynamic, Kimberley spent 23 years in the executive search industry, working with global clients, and becoming a partner after her first two years. Today, her passion is real estate investments and property management, which includes commercial property investments in health care. She is also committed to helping domestic violence, abuse and rape victims through her involvement with SPARCC (sparcc.net), and is co-chair of its annual gala.  Kimberley admires its leadership, which ensures that a significant amount of donors’ money addresses the needs of those it serves.

SKINCARE

I’m hooked on the Sublimage line by Chanel. It feels so good to have moisturized, clean and clear skin. Although it’s a bit pricey, very little product covers a lot of territory. Sunscreen is also a part of my daily routine. Having fair skin, I keep sunscreen in my car, gym bag and purse. I also visit my dermatologist, Dr. Mark Burnett, every six months. He and his team are seasoned at dealing with sun damage and removing potential cancer risks.

Key to any beauty routine is regular facials to boost the skin’s natural glow and overall appearance and to diminish the appearance of fine lines. I go to Jocelyn at Holcomb Kreithen every 5–7 weeks. To me, she is the best and takes time to analyze your skin.

HAIR

I am totally loyal to Sir William at The Met. My hair is naturally light and William keeps it healthy.  He lightens the grey with what he calls a “base break.”  For products, I only use Oribe—no products have had a greater impact on my hair. With my active and busy life, I need to be able to wash and go. William layers my hair and keeps the look fresh with a highlight application 2-3 times a year.

NUTRITION

Growing up with athletic parents, I naturally have a healthy diet. While I believe “you are what you eat,” I’m not a complete purist.  Occasionally, I love a great burger (Sarasota Ritz-Carlton has an A+ burger). I believe in eating diverse foods and offering the body a variety of options to keep the organs active and clean. My strictest rule is STOP eating when full—I truly believe this is the answer to staying trim and fit.

I start my day with either homemade granola (I make it myself to avoid sweeteners in most store-bought cereals) and fruit, or oatmeal and fruit. Both options take time to digest and allow the body a slow-burn on active days when you need the fuel. One thing I can’t live without is peanut butter! It’s a quick fix when you need protein and energy.

EXERCISE

I exercise every day of the week. I went through a period of trying to take a day off, buy why? I’m addicted to the Peloton and I typically ride it in the privacy of my home 5 days a week. Tennis gives me great satisfaction and it’s a joy to play with like-minded women in a team sport (some of my greatest friendships started on the courts!). I also enjoy hot yoga at Body Heat Yoga on Fruitville. You can do an extreme 90 minutes of Bikram-style yoga, or relax and release all your stress in a 1-hour session of relaxation yoga. Truly a sensational release when you allow yourself to focus on YOU. I also love dancing and studied jazz and ballet for 12 years. There’s nothing more freeing than getting together with friends, putting on some rockin’ tunes and letting loose!

RELAXATION

I love a good book and a gentle swim. Books allow your mind to travel somewhere else outside your daily routine. I also believe in continuing education.  For the past two years, I’ve been enrolled in Stanford U’s Creative Writing program. It’s been a rewarding experience, which I use as a relaxation exercise.  Learning keeps us engaged, educated and youthful.

SLEEP

For me, it’s early to bed, early to rise, tucking myself under my duvet in a dark, cool room. I keep a liter of water at my bedside at all times—I start and finish my day with water. I am a visual person, so I imagine the water flushing out toxins from the day before and preparing my body for a new day.

HEALTH

In addition to regular check-ups, I do a 48 nutrient blood test to find out what I am deficient in so I take what vitamins I need.

KIMBERLEY’S TIPS

  • Prefers plant-based organic makeup by Jane Iredale and Dr. Hauschka (brands can be found locally at Burnett Dermatology and Holcomb-Kreithen).
  • Loves the feel of natural products on the face and body.
  • Believes keeping the body pure is a testament to true beauty—inside and out.
