Bay Park to Host Community Meeting
October 1, 2021 – Sarasota
The Bay Park Conservancy (BPC) will host a community meeting on October 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium to update the community about the City and the Park Conservancy’s draft Implementation Agreement, park development, as well as activation and programming.
The Bay Park’s draft Implementation Agreement lays out the management, operating and maintenance responsibilities of the City of Sarasota and The Bay Park Conservancy for the park.
From inception, community outreach has been vital to the success of The Bay. Through our inclusive process of community and neighborhood meetings, online and social media updates, park user surveys and hosting of visits to The Bay, our goal is to share park progress and plans with future park goers and members of our community.
The meeting is open to the public and The Bay Park encourages those interested in attending to preview the most recent draft of the Implementation Agreement for Phase 1 as well as the Phase 1 Site Recommendation Plan. The Bay’s Bill Waddill and Jeannie Perales will also share information on park progress and activation updates. The meeting will include time for questions and answers.
Attendees are encouraged to wear masks and to physically distance. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed for the community to attend virtually. To view the livestream, visit www.thebaypark.org during the scheduled meeting time.
The Bay is on track to open summer of 2022, providing an iconic destination that will welcome everyone to Sarasota. From sunset strolls to free park programs, The Bay offers park-goers a place to gather, connect, explore and appreciate Florida’s natural beauty. Learn more about the October 7 meeting here.
