March 28, 2023 – Sarasota
As the month of April approaches, the Downtown Improvement District’s Fresh Fridays organizers work to bring artistic flair to the event with displays of artwork and live entertainment that will celebrate the area’s finest talent.
The Brett Foreman Band will headline the party as the night’s musical guest. With their carefully curated playlists and years of experience performing thousands of shows all over South Florida, the close-knit band mesmerizes with energetic performances that partygoers will dance to until the night’s over.
Returning to Fresh Fridays, Art in the Park showcases the talent of Sarasota Native Brandon Thrift. Brandon Thrift’s recognizable “Spread Love” regional and national brand will bring a colorful, joyful display of abstract expressionist artwork to attendees. Partygoers are also encouraged to make a day of it with the downtown Art Stroll, featuring the Palm Avenue Gallery Walk presented by the DSA and the City of Sarasota’s public art collection. Visit https://www.did-sarasota.com/fresh-fridays-art-stroll for all the artwork that can be seen downtown.
In addition, the phenomenal talents of Sarasota’s circus performers will be there. Catch them performing enchanting earth-defying feats! The entertainment won’t stop there. There will also be team members from local theatre organizations joining the event to put on captivating skits and plays.
The block party will not be short on activities, featuring signature giveaways and food/beverage offerings from downtown vendors, including Evie’s Tavern & Grill and Molly’s Pub, State Street Eating House + Cocktails, Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi Grill, Azul Steak and Sushi Lounge, Cask & Ale, and Brick’s Smoked Meats.
The event will take place at a new location on Central Avenue directly across from Selby Five Points Park. Parking will be available at Palm Avenue and State Street parking garages.
