Finding a great swimsuit is often a daunting task, especially finding one that celebrates the skin you’re in! This is why Alysia De Maio and her business partner Samantha De Maio—who is also Alysia’s sister-in-law—founded Eve Swim. 

Their new swimwear brand is eco-friendly and offers a diverse collection, focusing on swimwear that women can feel comfortable and confident in. “The brand was inspired from the frustration of not being able to find flattering swimwear that provided the right amount of coverage when needed”, says Alysia. In other words, on family beach days, pool parties, or chasing your kids around in the sand, you can have fun knowing and feeling confident that you don’t need to tug, pull, or adjust to keep everything covered. “We create swimwear that has minimal to true full coverage and always has sustainability top of mind in all aspects of the business,” she says.

Originally from New York and currently living in Sarasota, Alysia interned at Cosmopolitan Magazine while earning her degree in fashion design. She was able to parlay that internship into a job at the magazine and so began her career and fashion journey. Samantha, who, as a tall woman, has had difficulties finding swimsuits that fit well, brings her experience in marketing and project management to helping make Eve Swim successful. “Samantha has a genuine love for natural beauty,” says Alysia.  

Alysia, who grew up speaking three languages (English, French, and Spanish) and taught English in Colombia for a year, is currently working on the debut collection. “We are finalizing the designs with careful consideration of materials and fit,” she says.
