As students return to school after the winter break, All Faiths Food Bank is grateful for foundation and corporate support that makes crucial programs for area children and families possible.
Some recent grants to the Food Bank’s work include: Publix Super Markets Charities, $135,000 for mobile pantries; The Stone Foundation, $120,000 for the DeSoto County Food & Resource Center as well as food for mobile markets, the veterans’ pantry and Backpack program; The Mosaic Company, $65,000 for mobile pantries and backpacks in DeSoto County; The Harry Sudakoff Foundation, $40,000 for the Backpack program; The Roberta Leventhal Sudakoff Foundation, $40,000 for the Backpack program; and Wells Fargo, $15,000 for mobile pantries.
Through its Mobile Pantry program, All Faiths distributes fresh produce, meats and groceries to our community at 22 locations. All Faiths works with 56 partner agencies to provide food pantries and meals at their locations. Numerous mobile pantries are hosted at area schools at times that are convenient for parents as well.
At 69 schools and youth-serving organizations, students can receive “backpacks” filled with nutritious food to help them through the weekend or when school is on break. Additionally, there are pantries that provide fresh produce, meats and groceries at 13 area schools.
All food distributions can be found at allfaithsfoodbank.org, on the “Food Finder” page.
