All Faiths Food Bank Announces 2023 Board of Directors 

January 20, 2023 – Sarasota

As All Faiths Food Bank begins a journey guided by its new five-year strategic plan, the region’s only food bank and largest hunger relief organization is pleased to welcome a new board chair and three new board members to its leadership team. All Faiths Food Bank’s 2023 board of directors will help support and guide its operations and continue the organization’s decades of committed service as a trusted organization working to better the community.

The officers are Terri Vitale, chair; Patricia Courtois, vice chair; Dennis Doughty, treasurer; and Dr. LaShawn Frost, secretary. New board members are Rich Cautero, Ron Jadin and Mitch Olan – they join members Ben Hanan (immediate past chair), Lisa Keverian-Press, Bart Lowther, Elton White and Mary Kay Burns.

Vitale, who was previously vice chair, has been a dedicated community activist for over 15 years. She has volunteered on behalf of many important community organizations, served on the boards for the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Forty Carrots Family Center, and the Out-of-Door Academy, and was president of the Notre Dame Monogram Club from 2017-2019. Her professional background includes strategic media and marketing with Leo Burnett in Chicago, Ill., and public relations officer with Shands Children’s Hospital at the University of Florida. She graduated summa cum laude with an MBA from Notre Dame.

Cautero has a long career as a board member, including serving on the All Faiths Food Bank board and finance committee from 2013-2016. He is also currently a board and finance committee member for Goodwill Industries Manasota. A retired executive, he spent 30 years at Kraft Foods/Altria in numerous leadership positions, including chief financial officer at Maxwell House Coffee, and vice president, finance and strategic planning at Altria Corporate Headquarters. He is a longtime advocate of community and public service: he was previously a two-term elected Council member of the City of Venice. He completed his second term in 2021. He also was elected Vice Mayor three times: in 2017, 2019 and 2021. 

Jadin – who previously served on the food bank’s finance committee – and his wife are major supporters of and volunteers for the organization; they also tutor students at West Elementary School in DeSoto County and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Jadin retired from W.W. Grainger, where he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer from 2008 to 2018, after holding other leadership and finance roles at Grainger. Prior to that, he spent 15 years serving in financial analysis and management capacities within General Electric.

Olan has also previously served on All Faiths Food Bank’s finance committee. For the past 28 years, he has been dedicated to building Dental Care Alliance, one of the largest dental support organizations in the country. He served for 18 years as chief operating officer, chief executive officer for six years, and executive chairman for the past four years.

All Faiths Food Bank is committed to meeting immediate needs as well as bringing attention to – and working to bring down – the social and systemic barriers that contribute to food insecurity. At the core of the organization’s new strategic plan is centering the experience of those who face food insecurity: the plan lays out strategies for gaining a better understanding of the impact of hunger on our neighbors, meeting need from the perspective of those who may be struggling, working with partners to lift community members toward economic security, and helping everyone in the region understand that hunger is not something that happens to “someone else” – it is in our neighborhood, even right next door.
