On Friday, March 14 at Michael’s On East, Samaritan Counseling Services raised more than $225,000 to support vital mental health services in the community. While exploring the theme “Find Your Why” the event gathered 300 guests to celebrate the power of purpose.

Attendees heard powerful testimonials from Samaritan’s dedicated counseling team, who spoke about the privilege of journeying alongside those they serve and offering support in the healing process. Longtime supporter Sandy Snyder, along with her daughter, Kelly Quigley, graciously co-chaired the event, emphasizing the organization’s need for ongoing support.

“Samaritan currently has to fundraise, on average, $45 for every counseling session provided. This amounts to $3,000 per day,” stated Quigley during the luncheon. “The funds raised today will ensure that those in need receive the care they deserve.”

Executive Director Rick Howell emphasized the need for continued support, highlighting the demand for mental health services in the region. “Despite our significant growth over the past few years, we are still unable to say YES to every call that we receive,” Howell shared. Investing in the development of more licensed providers throughout Sarasota and Manatee County remains critical.

For more than 25 years, Samaritan Counseling Services has been a vital source of mental health support in the community. Its dedicated team of over 30 licensed counselors delivers compassionate care across 13 locations and seven nonprofit partner sites, with a vision to instill hope and transform lives.
