Celebrate Love This Valentine’s Day with Chris Botti Live
January 15, 2025 | Sarasota
The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is excited to welcome Chris Botti to Sarasota on Saturday, February 14, 2025 at 8:00pm. Tickets on sale now.
GRAMMY-winning trumpeter Chris Botti has been one of the world’s most popular instrumentalists for nearly three decades, collaborating with superstars like Sting, Paul Simon, Barbra Streisand, and Lady Gaga. He’s topped jazz charts, earned Gold and Platinum records, and performed on iconic stages from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. This Valentine’s Day, experience his mesmerizing artistry live as he embarks on a fresh journey back to his jazz roots with his Blue Note Records debut, Vol. 1, focusing on acoustic jazz and classic standards.
“I turned 60 in 2022, a time that felt like a restart for many things,” Botti shares. “I wanted to strip away orchestral arrangements and special guests and focus more on my playing, my band, and these jazz classics we love playing on stage.” Inspired by albums like Kind of Blue and Beyond the Missouri Sky, Vol. 1 evokes a cinematic elegance that’s equally suited for intimate listening or creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
Produced by legendary David Foster, Vol. 1 features an outstanding cast, including classical violinist Joshua Bell, guitarist Leonardo Amuedo, and saxophonist Chad Lefkowitz-Brown. Standout tracks include a tender rendition of “Danny Boy,” the bossa nova charm of “Time On My Hands,” and Botti’s hushed, soulful interpretation of Miles Davis’ “Blue in Green.” His glowing tone and dramatic flair infuse every performance with beauty and emotion.
The title Vol. 1 suggests a beginning—and perhaps more to come. “I’m so looking forward to that possibility,” Botti concludes, signaling that this artistic rebirth may just be the start of an exciting new chapter.
