Women On The Scene
Asli Gunsel
Owner and Founder of 301 Granite & Marble
When Asli Gunsel, owner and founder of 301 Granite & Marble, warmly greets you, you immediately feel her pride in her work and quickly experience her deep knowledge of the business she clearly loves.
301 Granite & Marble, situated in north Sarasota, is much more than its name. It is a top-quality remodeling solution for discerning residential clients with many high-end options for kitchen countertops, bathrooms, and outdoor areas. This long-standing and highly regarded business provides its clients with premium surface materials such as granite, marble, quartz, stone, and travertine and ready-to-install solid wood cabinetry for limitless remodeling options.
“I am extremely hands-on from start to finish,” Asli says passionately. “I do all the countertop templating myself and am always available and completely accountable. Every client has my cell number and knows they can reach me anytime.”
301 Granite & Marble is a family-owned, multi-generational business operating out of a spacious, well-organized facility where luxury and functionality intersect. Here, Asli’s father, Kemal, meticulously applies a lifetime of experience honing and fabricating materials, while her 24-year-old son, Yeet, fields inquiries and learns the various aspects of the business with professionalism and respect. Simultaneously, the rest of the thirty-five-strong craftspeople and installers receive Asli’s exacting directions for her custom installations and are on their way to worksites before many of us enjoy our first cup of coffee.
You also won’t always find Asli onsite behind her desk; she is very involved in client projects, happily going to different job sites with a peaceful demeanor and the utmost professionalism, ensuring customer satisfaction time and time again.
As anyone who has undertaken a home remodel knows, the success of this kind of work can rely heavily on tangential professionals, the quality of their prep work, and the often-fickle nature of their reliability. Asli knows this well and has the answer with her straightforward foundation-based business model.
“I’ve carefully built my business and reputation over 22 years. I can’t trust my name to workers who don’t show up. So, I hired and trained my own. I am the first one here and the last one out, six days a week.”
The fact that she hasn’t taken a vacation in over three years is shared in tones of deep gratification for Asli’s success and steady business. She has also achieved a milestone highlight of learning and becoming certified in the notoriously fussy art of ceramic fabricating and installation. “There aren’t that many of us,” she shared. She knows well the fragile nature of natural stones and irreparable breakage often occurring at the veining, saying, “Its weakness is its beauty.”
Asli’s vision for her projects includes wanting to “tell the story of the owner’s home.”
Unsurprisingly, she describes herself as direct, fair, and honest. “I stand behind my work 100% and will never leave a client unhappy. My work, behavior, and standards speak louder than any advertising could.”
301 Granite & Marble is a word-of-mouth business based on the tradition of the best companies. Its user-friendly, helpful, and educational website displays this #womenowned company’s sparkling reputation and features multiple clients describing excellent services and expectations that are well exceeded.
Asli loves showing clients what she can do to make their home tell a story. She truly exemplifies the best of the best in her profession.
