The Chamber Orchestra of Sarasota is thrilled to announce “Holiday Cheer!”, the first concert of its 2024-25 season. Award-winning soprano Hanna Brammer will be the featured guest artist, performing Mozart’s “Exsultate, jubilate” and other selections, followed by Christmas and Hanukkah favorites and much more! Join us as we take you on a journey through the holiday season!  The December 5th program will include J. S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Giacomo Puccini’s Chrysanthemum. The festive performance will take place on December 5th at 7:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church (2050 Oak Street) in Sarasota, with its glorious acoustics, beautiful Mission- style architecture, and ample and convenient free parking.

Praised by Opera News as “magnificent,” soprano Hanna Brammer is making a splash on the operatic scene. Brammer has sung many of opera’s most beloved soprano roles to great acclaim. Brammer recently wowed Sarasota audiences with her portrayal of Vespina in Haydn’s comic masterpiece “L’Infedeltà Delusa.” Brammer made her Carnegie Hall debut in Mozart’s “Coronation Mass” with Mid-America Productions.

The Chamber Orchestra of Sarasota is one of the few professional chamber orchestras in the State of Florida. Its mission is to provide opportunities for diverse audiences and performers to experience the unique repertoire and aesthetics of a chamber orchestra by employing the finest musicians in the Sarasota area, performing in small and intimate venues.

Music Director Robert Vodnoy has enjoyed a long and illustrious career as a conductor, composer, violinist, and educator. He made his professional debut as a conductor in 1975 with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, which he led as music director for 30 years. He is also the music director of the Whiting Park Festival Orchestra, which celebrated its 25th season this past summer. He has been music director of five American orchestras and has guest conducted orchestras throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America, and the Pacific Rim.

The 2024-25 season continues on February 13, 2025 with internationally acclaimed pianist Inna Faliks performing Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto in C Minor, and on March 20, 2025 with the Florida premiere of “Anne Frank’s Tree” by American composer Victoria Bond. Virtuoso violinist George Maxman will be featured on the March program, performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor. Single tickets are $42/adult and $5/students. Tickets for the complete season are available for $115, a 10% discount. Season ticket holders are invited to the opening night post-concert reception to meet the orchestra and guest artist.
