August 30, 2024 | Sarasota
Art Center Sarasota’s 2024-2025 exhibition season offers a dynamic lineup of solo shows, juried exhibitions, Artists Talks and other events. The season runs October 10, 2024, through September 27, 2025, and features 22 exhibitions.
Christina Baril, ACS’s exhibition director, shares that this season “emphasizes the intimate stories of individual artists and celebrates the rich tapestry of human experience. Expect to be captivated by a thoughtfully curated diversity of perspectives, with works ranging from vibrant abstract canvases to evocative hand-carved wooden forms, reflecting the multifaceted nature of contemporary artistic expression.” Baril adds that the season will feature the visions of 15 solo artists, each offering a distinctive perspective through their work, and notes that the juried shows “will present a diverse array of styles, ideas, and creative viewpoints, curated by esteemed arts professionals.”
In addition to exhibitions, the season will also feature a variety of events designed to engage and inspire. Art Center Sarasota’s “Artist Talks” offer audiences the chance to hear directly from the artists and participate in meaningful conversations. Collaborative efforts are also a key focus, including the beloved Spring Art Show, an
annual event that celebrates the creativity of over 1,500 K-12 Sarasota County students. In addition, Art Center Sarasota is partnering with ALSO Youth to present a special exhibition featuring works created by teens during their summer program.
“The opening of a new season is a significant moment for our artistic community,” says Kinsey Robb, ACS’s executive director. “In a world where words often fall short, these exhibitions allow us to see, feel, and connect with the experiences that shape us. We extend our deepest gratitude to the talented artists joining us this season for sharing their perspectives, vulnerabilities, and creative processes.”
The 2024-2025 exhibition season is paid for in part by Sarasota County Tourist Development Tax revenues and generous donors.
