M/I Homes proudly announces that the sale of a home in its Sweetwater at Lakewood Ranch community, located in Bradenton, is part of its philanthropic initiative for Pelotonia, a national nonprofit that funds innovative cancer research. The Sweetwater community is one of M/I Homes 15 Pelotonia Benefit Homes across the U.S. with a portion of the proceeds from each Benefit Home directed to Pelotonia.

The sale of the Sweetwater home generated over $140,000 for Pelotonia. This contribution directly supports Pelotonia’s mission of funding innovative cancer research.

M/I Homes will celebrate the sale of the Sweetwater Benefit Home and recognize the participating vendors and trade partners who made this significant donation possible, during a check presentation event on Monday, August 26, at 10:30 a.m. at 17522 Savory Mist Circle in Bradenton.

The Sarasota community and beyond are invited to join M/I Homes and Pelotonia at the upcoming event to celebrate and support continued efforts in cancer research.

“M/I Homes is honored to contribute to Pelotonia, a mission-driven organization making profound impacts through research,” said Robert H. Schottenstein, chairman & CEO of M/I Homes and chair of the Pelotonia Board of Directors. “Cancer touches so many lives, and we are proud to engage our divisions and partners nationwide to support such critical work.”

Pelotonia, founded in 2008, channels 100% of participant-raised funds to innovative cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. Their programs, like the annual Pelotonia Ride, have collectively raised over $283 million. This significant effort underlines Pelotonia’s commitment to ending cancer through cutting-edge research and collaborative community efforts.

M/I Homes has supported Pelotonia since 2014, donating over $7 million, and engaging more than 200 team members in their annual cycling events. In 2023 alone, $3.2 million was raised from 15 Benefit Homes nationwide, including one from the Sarasota market.

The Sweetwater at Lakewood Ranch home marks the second Benefit Home for the Sarasota Division, showcasing a powerful blend of real estate and philanthropy by donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Benefit Home to fund groundbreaking cancer research and treatment.

The 15 Benefit homes with proceeds going toward Pelotonia are located in these M/I Homes markets: Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Orlando, Raleigh, San Antonio, Sarasota and Tampa. www.mihomes.com/pelotonia.
