Marilu Henner to Headline 15th Tidewell Foundation Signature Luncheon

Health advocate, famed movie, TV and Broadway actress, five-time Golden Globe nominee, New York Times best-selling author and memory expert Marilu Henner will be the keynote speaker at the Tidewell Foundation’s 15th Annual Signature Luncheon, scheduled for March 1, 2024 at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.
The Signature Luncheon is the Tidewell Foundation’s signature fundraising event to help fund charity care, grief support services, specialized veterans care, music therapy, telehealth and other programs that Tidewell Hospice and Empath Health provide to people across Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties.

With the energy of a teenager, the wisdom of a sage and the memory of a superhero, Henner has earned the nickname “Perpetual Motion.” Along with starring in 72 films, seven Broadway shows and two hit classic sitcoms, “Taxi” and “Evening Shade,” Henner is a five-time Golden Globe nominee and the author of 10 books on health, parenting, memory and lifestyle improvement.
Henner is a spokesperson for Alzheimer’s disease awareness. She has been a vocal advocate for hospice care, and in 2019 she became a spokesperson for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Henner has said that she believes hospice care is “one of the most important things that we can do for our loved ones at the end of life.”
Henner’s mother died in hospice care, and she has said that the experience was “beautiful and peaceful.” She has also said that she believes hospice care can help families cope with the death of a loved one.
Henner’s advocacy work has helped to raise awareness of hospice care and its benefits. She is a powerful voice for those who are facing the end of life, and her work is helping to make hospice care more accessible to everyone.
Henner has hosted and executive produced her own nationally syndicated talk shows (“Marilu” and “Shape Up Your Life”) and her own radio show, “The Marilu Henner Show.” As one of only 12 people documented with Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory, Henner was the subject of a three-part special on “60 Minutes” and on “60 Minutes Australia,” as well as news programs and newspaper articles around the globe. She also served as the consultant on the CBS series “Unforgettable” for all four seasons.
Henner has spoken before Congress on 11 occasions on a variety of subjects including dietary supplements, women’s cardiovascular disease, deadbeat parents, The Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act, US Dietary Guidelines in 2004 and 2014 and funding for Alzheimer’s. Henner currently co-stars with Gerald McRaney on “NCIS LA,” and with Candace Cameron Bure in the Hallmark Murders and Mysteries series “Aurora Teagarden.”
Henner can also be seen this year in the play “Madwomen of the West” with Caroline Aaron, Melanie Mayron and JoBeth Williams, as well as around the country in her one woman show “Music and Memories with Marilu Henner.”
