Tidewell Foundation received a grant of $15,000 from Gulf Coast Community Foundation to support Tidewell Grief Care’s Blue Butterfly Family Grief Program in Charlotte County. The grant is designated to support the mental health of children.
The Blue Butterfly Family Grief Program serves children and teens, ages 5-18, who are grieving the death of a special person in their lives through peer support groups led by trained mental health counselors. Blue Butterfly serves families in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties. Donations to the Tidewell Foundation provide funding for free grief and bereavement counseling through Tidewell Hospice and Tidewell Grief Care, both members of Empath Health.
“We greatly appreciate Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s commitment to helping Charlotte County children and teens heal from loss,” said Delesa Morris, President of the Tidewell Foundation. “This grant will help us bring hope to families touched by grief.”
