SMHF Hires New Director of Advancement Services

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation announced that Laurie Wallace has joined the organization as Director of Advancement Services. Stepping into this newly created role, Wallace brings more than 20 years of fundraising and advancement services experience, and will be responsible for researching prospects, overseeing data management, reporting and integrity.

“Expanding our organization is an indication of what we have achieved over the last few years,” says Healthcare Foundation President, Stacey Corley. “Laurie’s extensive experience in healthcare philanthropy will be an invaluable asset to us as we continue to provide Sarasota Memorial with the critical resources it needs to bring world-class healthcare to our growing community.”

Prior to joining the Healthcare Foundation, Wallace most recently was a consultant to a broad range of not-for-profit healthcare organizations. She also served as Senior Director of Development for LifeBridge Health, Baltimore, Md.: Director of Bereavement and Thought Leadership Institute for Hospice of the Chesapeake, Pasadena, Md.; Director of Development, at Loyola University, Baltimore, Md. and Executive Director of Meritus Health in Hagerstown, Md.

Wallace earned her Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University in Philadelphia, Pa. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Business Management from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Fundraising Executive
