March 24, 2023 – Sarasota
Opportunities For All (OFA), a program of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, is now accepting applications for the third year of the Summer Internship program. This eight-week program provides a win-win opportunity for local employers to have a diverse intern for the summer. In return, the intern broadens their exposure to the professional work world. This program contributes to the overall growth of the community and economy. This program is designed for minority interns.
In its first two years, 2021 and 2022, the OFA Summer Internship program successfully matched 45 minority interns with 32 local businesses based on the intern’s major/career interest. Over the course of the program, interns were able to experience a business environment and explore different career opportunities. Intern applicants must be a High School graduate or older. Employers involved in the program must be a Sarasota Chamber member.
“We are so proud to be launching the third year of our Opportunities For All Internship Program,” said Dan Sidler, Vice President of CareerEdge and Economic Development for the Sarasota Chamber. “The program is an invaluable opportunity for students to explore potential career paths, while building their resume and gaining real-world experience with a local business.”
This experience is fully funded by the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce through the Opportunities For All grant provided by Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation.
