Kids Camps, Classes, and Workshops at SCD

By  |

June 24, 2022 – Sarasota

Sarasota Contemporary Dance (SCD) is hosting a variety of summer classes and workshops for students of all ages during its summer programming at SCD’s Home Studio in the Rosemary District.

SCD offers a full summer class schedule starting June 20th – August 4th, for anyone aged fourteen or older. Classes range from Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Afro-Modern, and more! All levels are offered, including beginner, older adult-friendly, intermediate, and advanced.

Additionally, Sarasota Contemporary Dance is offering two kids camps this summer! For the first time, SCD is collaborating with the Asolo Repertory Theatre for “Creator Camp,” happening June 20th – 24th. This allows a space for young artists, aged five to seven, to imagine, create, and discover through story telling. Financial aid scholarships are available for the Creator Camp through the Asolo Rep.

SCD’s Annual Kids Camp will take place July 25th – 29th. It explores new ways of moving through Contemporary, Hip Hop, Acro, Afro-Modern, Jazz, and Creative Movement dance classes. The Little Groovers Camp, for ages five to eight, includes the classes and a variety of games and crafts. The Intermediate Movers Camp, for ages eight to twelve, will learn works from SCD’s performance repertoire on top of taking classes.

Below is the full schedule of SCD’s upcoming Summer offerings.
