Opening Friday Fest, the free summer concert series at the Van Wezel, is 60’s show band YESTERDAYZE. On June 17 from 5:00-9:00 p.m., this high-energy band with great vocals will be recreating favorite Top-40 hits from 1960 to 1969. Featuring classic favorites from The Beatles, The Monkees, The Temptations, The Supremes, Jefferson Airplane, The Rolling Stones, and more, this band will have everyone dancing on their feet by the end of the night!
All band members have worldwide touring experience and are seasoned professionals who lived it, loved it…and still do! From the authentic, colorful costumes to the proven, guaranteed musical quality, YESTERDAYZE offers an upbeat, family-friendly “Flower Power Happy Hour” that is not to be missed.
Guests who attend the event will enjoy a sampling of food trucks, including J&J Bar-B-Que, Uniquely Org. Coffee & Crepes, Bonefish Grill, Uncle Phil’s Organic Popcorn, Lobstercraft, Siesta Pops, Looshkos, PDQ, and more.
Each Friday Fest event is located on the lawn of the Van Wezel, the perfect spot to enjoy a summer sunset over Sarasota Bay. While blankets and lawn chairs are welcome at all Friday Fest events, outside food and beverages, including coolers, are prohibited. Friday Fest takes place rain or shine; in the event of inclement weather, the festival will move indoors to the Grand Foyer or the main stage of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
